There is no single greater noida west pin code, because pin codes follow post office delivery areas rather than marketing names. That is why you will see 201306 and 201318 for addresses a few kilometres apart. The Sorrel Heights brochure uses 201306 for the project address in Jalpura, while Sorrel Buildcon's sales office in Sector 3 uses 201318.
Why one area has more than one pin code
A PIN — Postal Index Number — is India Post's delivery code. The last three digits identify the delivery post office, and the boundary of that post office's beat is drawn for postal convenience: which roads a postman can cover, where sorting happens, how much volume a branch handles.
Those boundaries were drawn long before the townships. - Ask a neighbour or the nearest shop what pin code their post reaches on. It is unglamorous and highly reliable.
- Do not trust listing portals. Property listings copy pin codes from each other and are frequently wrong.
- Keep the two separate in your own records if, like many buyers here, your correspondence address during construction is different from the project address.
A practical note for buyers of under-construction homes
While a project is being built, you will have two live addresses at once: where you currently live and receive post, and the project address that appears on your agreement. Keep them distinct in every form.
Give the builder your current address for correspondence, and use the project address only where the property is being described. When possession approaches, update your address with your bank, employer, insurer and Aadhaar in that order — bank first, because that is what most other verifications check against. Buyers sometimes read something into a pin code — that one is "more Noida" than another, or that a particular code signals a better locality. It does not. It says nothing about the authority that approves the building, the quality of construction, road connectivity, water supply or the school down the road.
